Set up a plastic flat cover with some millimeters of water. It is important you don't use ceramic plate, or anything else made from an hard material. This because the nozzles borders are ceramic and they break very easily. I know it because I've broke my old IP4200 printer head tapping it on the plate, don't ask me why. I asked myself it a lot of time!

Probably I didn't want to accept the more obvious reason;-) Put the stuff to soak for a while. The water will dissolve the dry ink. Meanwhile with the rubber tube try to suction some water from the plate into the nozzles. To do that you don't necessarily suck the tube, it's better you keep it in place, push the sides, close the open end, and let it sucks for you resuming the original shape. Now you can wait an hour, but if you have time you can leave it all the night.

At the rear side of the printer head, the contacts should be waterproof, but don't wet them too much. Install back the head into place, close the lever, put the 5 cartridges on, close the printer and turn it off.

I've waited a few minutes now, because I think the ink need time to mixing up with the water inside the head nozzles. When you turn on the printer again, probably it will want to make the nozzles cleaning, and its right;-) if not tell it to do that. After the cleaning, which will waste a few quantity of ink, you'll can print the check sheet to verify that all the nozzles are clean and working!

Hello,I'm not sure if water is the best fluid to do this, since more and more ink is water resistent, and water can corrode contacts. I cannot wash ink of my hands with water and soap.Instead i use Isopropyl alcohol.

What also could help is filling empty cardridges with isopropyl alcohol and do a few cleanings with it, so it will flush the heads with it. The ink become thinner.

Installed

Afterwards i replace the isopropanyl cardridges with the good ones and i print the test page a few times, so the stuff is out of it. I Need some help guys. I replaced the DX7 printheads on my Mutoh VJ1638 sublimation printer (due to end of life). I'm using Onyx Rip and sensient inks with them. New heads, after the installation, are printing much lighter than the original file.

The profile, media and inks are all the same, but the colors are coming out much lighter and much less saturated. Red is coming our as pink etc.

Tried everything but couldn't solve out the issue. Help and guidance will be much appreciated.Fahad Habib. I just find the sponge where the printhead sits when in cleaning mode, soak it with windex, and clean the windex off it with a paper towel. I do that about 30 times, clean off the rubber 'wiper', and the other sponge beside the main one. (both sponges, and rubber wiper on all the way on the right on an epson small in one) The the sponges get soaked with windex and the printhead pushed into place, and let to soak for about 20 minutes.

Canon Mp610 Print Head

This only gets done when I get tired of doing several cleaning cycles and it still doesn't print correctly. Its saved me from buying a new printer 3 times now. Hi - Before I explain - my Canon MP610 recovered from a print head overheat!:It suddenly stopped and showed error 5200 (print head overheat) in the middle of a crucial run. The flashing sequence of the LEDs indicated the same error.

I tried new inks, reseating the head and finally cleaning the head by placing it on a shallow saucer and running a very gentle slow stream of water over the ink receiver gauze holes for about an hour. Even this did not resolve the error. So I went out and bought another printer - and duly completed the print job.HOWEVER, the next morning, just before I took it out to the garage, ready for disposal, I switched it on again - and it came straight back on again with no errors! So, maybe the procedure is: Clean the head thoroughly (carefully!), turn off and unplug the printer for a LONG time and try again before you chuck it out. Well i have the same printer (ip4700) and since one month im struggling with the jellow color cloged nozzle.Tried almost everything:1)soaked for 2 weeks in a solution of distilled water and cleaning solution for printer plus some isopropylic alcool.2)unscrew the screws and opened the head, took off and cleaned the rubber at the bottom3)tried to flush water in the nozzles using small rubber tubes like in the picturesNothing. The jellow nozzle still clogged. Any idea how to clean?tks!!A.

Before i throw my printer out the window. I hadnt used my printer for a few months but it had cartridges that were about half full, i went to print just some black text and it only printed a tiny bit, not full lines.

So i head cleaned via the 'maintenance' and retested, no better, ended up doing that about 10 times, then my ink ran out, so i changed the cartridges, tried again, was the same so ended up doing clean - print another 10 times, still no change. And now used 1/.2 the ink, so today i tried again, cleaned the head with a cotton bud - tried printing just black about 10 times, no change, some text got a bit better, but then nothing again, and now all the ink is low, including the colour one which ive not even used today, so right now im confused and peed off with it as i really needed to print something, so wheres the ink going if its not even printing?, baffled.!

I purchased a Canon T9600 printer from Officeworks. After my problem with the MP610 I was not going to buy Canon again, but after a look around I decided on the Canon T9600 model. Pros - price, printing working well, screen easy to use, has sd card slot, printing is reasonably fast. Cons - The ink I use is all black for printing and copying, and I dont do very much of either. But I keep getting messages about the pink ink being all used up and I cannot print anything until I replace it. So I bought another pink ink and loaded it only to ge. Read more t the message it is half used and then after a few prints it ran out again.

So I had to buy another pink ink tank. Hoping this will not do the same again. Although my printing and copying is only very limited and more in the shape of letters (so not much ink required), the pages print out quite wet sometimes. They do dry quickly though. Advertised as having a usb connection - beware - that is for the cable going to the pc.

No other usb that I can find, so very frustrating in that respect.Would I recommend it? Well it is costing me a bit with the pink ink tank that I am not using anyway, but the copies and printing that I have done are satisfactory, so would recommend it, considering the price for the unit is pretty good. Canon Australia have sold a number of different model printers that fail with an UO52 print head error. This is a known reliability issue across many models and affects many users across the world; a quick google search validates this.As this is a known manufacturer issue, Australian consumers should be treated the same as USA consumers, with a right to rectification of the issue across all the known printer models experiencing the issue.I have personally experienced the U052 print head error and when reported to Canon Australia, they claimed it was a different issue that to that in the USA - even though they are the exact same printers with the exact same error! The brand says it all cannon.

I think its the leader in cutting edge technology when it comes to images and printing. You cant go wrong with the cannon pixma, so different to any other brand with its unique features that make it the leader in the competition. Excelelnt picture quality when printing photo images and is oyur own photo lab. It also scans docuemnts very fast and i was very impressed with that overall.

Good device you will not be dissapointed. Very good price.multitasking is its main purpose. Features galore. Excelelnt affordable price!printing can be slow at times especially on high quality. Dubious about the quality of this model printer.

Looking on the Canon website it is not even promoted in the PIXMA series any more.I purchased (for approx $240) the printer in May 2008 and initially thought the print was very good value for money. All the features were easy to use with good print quality.I have recently received an error message stating 'Incorrect Print Head Installed'. I had not changed a printer cartridge or touched the printer head. I rang Canon for assistance and have been advised it is a technical issue which needs to be. Read more resolved at a service provider. I rang the nearest service provider and was told that there is a $66 booking fee to view the printer for 15 minutes, with a subsequent fee of $40 per fifteen minute interval after this, plus the cost of spare parts.

At my best calculation it looks like my printer is going to cost approx $160 to repair. The printer has quickly lost it's value for money appeal. I have only had the printer for 14 months, and have just missed the 12 month warranty window. Love it, pictures, documents & CDs it does it all with minimum fuss and bother but can we do something about the cost of the ink please, I'm not that stupid that I acutally believe it costs that much per mililitre to produce.A good honest printer that has good speed and outstanding resolution when printing your favourite pictures. Love the fact that I can link it direct to every camera or storage device I own without the PC even being turned on.As with all Ink Jets the Ink costs are enourmous if you do a lot of high density color printing, y. Read more es, you can buy a third party continuous ink system for much less but you instantly invalidate your warranty and support with Canon. The scanner is adequate but not up to the same standard as a dedicated stand alone scanner.

This printer is the most amazing printer I have ever purchased, with so many features not included on the box such as the fact that it does double-sided printing without you having to touch it, and the two feed system with the tray at the bottom.Prints double sided without you having to touch the paper (it prints one side, feeds it through and reprints on the other sideCard readerLCD ScreenPictBridgeIndividual CartridgesGreat quality printsLow CostTwo Feed system (either use the paper slot at the top back, or use the tray underneath the printer)Infrared. Managed to haggle a good price for this printer and it prints out great photos and documents etc.

The only thing that bugs me is the extortionate amount of money charged for the ink cartridges (although this applies to almost all brands of printers). Thankfully you can use the cheaper non-canon ink cartridges although you need to use either chipped ones or save the chips from the original canon cartridges.

Mp610

I'd definately buy a canon again as they are definately value for money.Affordable good quality printer. Easy to use and has some great features.Nothing to dislike about the printer itself. I am really impressed with how this thing works. Operating this thing is effortless, with all its clear buttons and coulour screen.

It's a given that the prints are of good quality,I've always had that impression on Canon printers. But what I like the most (and what I didn't experience in my previous printers) was the Quick start feature. (Yes, I've gone berserk with my previous printers that undergo lots of ceremonies before it starts printing). With my new Canon Pixma, I didn't have to wait forever for my first page to print. For me, that's really something, because we all know that not all printers are like it.Colour TFT screen. PictBridge feature. Quick Start feature.

I would rate this as one of the top printers for its price that came out at the time. The fact that it prints CDs so easily was a big selling point for me. Also I would have to mention its nice cubic styling, all its parts and features fold away neatly and easily.

You can just turn it on when you want to use it because it starts so quickly. Another company I do work for have one in their office as well and they use it to print out full color documents all the time, when I mentioned that I had just purchased one myself they said 'You won't regre. Read more t it.' A really good multi-purpose printer. Easy to hook up to your computer with easy guide software that installs.

The printer can output different size documents like business cards or envelopes as well as CDs. The quality of the print is as good as you could possibly need and it used two black ink cartridges, one for just B&W and the other for color.

It has a little color screen that explains everything you need to know as you use it. It prints fast and is quiet and solid, it seems robust and since I've been using it not prone to paper jamming. You can plug a flash disk or camera card right into the printer itself if you can't for any reason hook it up to a computer. The display warns you when the ink is running low and recommends you replace the ink cartridge, even so I managed to get plenty of good looking prints out of it before I did so.So far there is nothing that annoys me, having said that I haven't used all its functions yet so I've not fully tested it.
